Travel to Albufeira in Portugal
Albufeira, in the heart of the Algarve in Portugal’s southern coast, attracts many visitors each year; with the main attraction are the beaches here. There are 23 beaches, with seven located near the city.
The most popular is the Fisherman’s beach, which gets very crowded in high season. The city also has much to offer people who want to spend some time away from the beaches, with a number of interesting churches and some water parks, ideal places for a day of fun.
As in other parts of Portugal, Albufeira has some fascinating churches, to help you explore the rich culture. The main church is the Mother Church, built in the 18th century, with its imposing bell tower.
The church has some interesting statues and a painting by local artist Samora Barros. Santa Ana Church is small but very beautiful with an intricate ceiling design and some wooden sculptures. There are numerous churches in the vicinity and some of the most visited are the Chapel of Mercy and the Church so Sebastian.
The most popular excursions are to the water and theme parks. Zoo marine oceanographic park is a great educational entertainment; here you can admire dolphins, seals, sharks, turtles, exotic birds, waterfowl, alligators and tropical fish.
