Sierra Nevada National Park is located in the province of Granada and also takes part in the province of Almeria. It is a mountain with many trails to explore by themselves and enjoy nature and hiking.
Among the Footpath is the path of Vereda de la Estrella. Which was built in 1890 as a way of communicating with galena and pyrite mines at the head of the valley of the Genil.

The old road is narrow so it can not continue walking.
The route is 21 kilometers (round trip) and takes approximately 6 hours, there are well signposted and can be done in any season.
The route starts at the Barranco de San Juan, where was an old tram station. After an hour and a half away are the “rope of three thousand” a high summit has great views.
Also from here you can see the peak and right Alcazaba Mulhacén has the highest elevation of the peninsula (3,478 meters).
